Sunrise Elopement At Taft Point – A Yosemite National Park Elopement
3:30am – We wake up and hit the road
4:30am – We arrive at the trailhead of Taft Point in Yosemite National Park and meet Kiki and Avram.
5:00am – We arrive at Taft Point and Kiki and Avram start getting ready for the most magical intimate elopement!!
When we say magical, it is such an understatement. We are pretty sure there are no words that can describe how amazing this entire Yosemite National Park elopement experience was. For those who have never been, Yosemite is a National Park in California, among the Sierra Navada mountains. It is known for it’s towering redwoods, cascading waterfalls and gorgeous mountains. It’s one of the most visited park in the country. And for good reason! It is so beautiful, rain or sine, winter or summer. To read more about the park, click here!
Kiki and Avram anxiously got ready cliffside in the near pitch black. Just as the first light started to show itself, we started with a few portraits. The goal was to take photos all the way up until right before sunrise. Then have their ceremony just as the sun popped out. It turned out that our timing couldn’t have been more perfect. The sun was rising over the cliffside, creating a gorgeous golden light for their ceremony at Yosemite National Park elopement.
Their officiant, Carole, showed up right before sunrise and we started the intimate elopement they had always dreamed of. They cried, Carole cried, we cried! It could not have been more perfect. There was something so special about their ceremony. Knowing that the rest of the world was sound asleep while they quietly said “I do”.
We are so grateful and blown away that we get to be a part of such beautiful moments. Kiki and Avram even asked us to be their witnesses and sign their marriage license (such and honor). They actually got married on the longest day of the summer, summer solstice. We signed their marriage license, I can’t believe how many elopements we have our witness signatures on! And we celebrated with a champagne pop and summer solstice beer. Cheers to the Summer Solstice!
The moment we left, we were immediately hoping for another email to come in. An email that would take us back to Yosemite National Park for another intimate wedding or elopement. Seriously, we’re so in love with this place.
Kiki and Avram, here’s to a long lasting friendship. We hope to share a beer with you again in the near future. Cheers!
We love couples that elope! Kiki and Avram visit Yosemite every year and so when it came to choosing their elopement spot, a Yosemite National Park elopement was an obvious choice. We love getting to help couples break all the rules and make the plan that fits them best.
Every couple is different, and every story is different. So why should any two weddings be the same?! In this day in age, there are no rules anymore. And if the place where you had your first date, or that special place you revisit every year, or any place that has extra special meaning to is where you want to get married, then do it! And have no regrets! Because you don’t get this chance again.
Visiting Yosemite was one of the best experiences of our lives! And we cannot wait to visit again!
