During a recent trip up to Seattle and Bainbridge Island, Washington, we had an amazing opportunity to photograph two of our very good friends, Kelsi and Spencer. We had this session on the books for a couple of months, and we were super excited about it… BUT it got even more exciting when Spencer got in touch with us, and told us that he was thinking about proposing to Kelsi! I mean….. Serious?…..HELL YES!!
We met up with the power couple early afternoon… Grabbed some lunch and a couple of beers… Purchased two pounds of Sour Patch Kids [seriously]… And headed out for a day on a mountain. We hiked Gold Mountain Trail in Kitsap County, and it certainly did not disappoint. It’s a bit of a trek to the top, but the views are outstanding!! And I gotta give a quick shoutout to Kelsi for making the hike…. She wasn’t feeling well at all! 🙁 Total trooper… And by looking at the photos, you would never be able to tell she had the flu. This girl is such a stunner!!
On our way back down the mountain, we stopped for a few last minute sunset photos, and that is when ‘it’ went down. Spencer took a knee in front of his now bride-to-be JUST as the sun sank behind the mountains…. MAAAAAAAGIC!! Kelsi was completely blindsided and I’ll be honest… It was a little difficult to shoot through misty eyes. We popped some champagne, that Danée was lugging around in her backpack all day, passed the bottle around for the remainder of the hike down the mountain, and we all lived happily ever after!
Kelsi… Spencer… We are SO SO SO unbelievably happy for the both of you!! We feel so honored to have been able to document such a huge and special moment in your lives. Cheers to love. Cheers to YOU!
