Mikaela and Zach’s elopement was a DREAM!
When Mikaela and Zach told us they wanted to elope in Oregon by Mount Hood, we couldn’t have jumped on it faster!
Mount Hood is about 40 miles from Portland and just 20 miles from the Columbia River. It is the highest peak in Oregon and one of the state’s crowning jewels. It is a volcano that stands at over 11,000 feet and, unlike Mount Rainier in Washington, it is not active. It is believed to be over 50,000 years old! It is home to 12 glaciers and is the most prominent Cascade volcano. Our favorite fun fact about this location is Ranger the climbing dog! In the 30s, it is rumored that Ranger scaled this mountain 500 times. He died in 1939 and is rumored to be buried at the summit of Mount Hood.
Mikaela and Zach had a relaxed and amazing elopement day. They got ready in their cabin and did a beautiful, tearful first look right in front of the mountain. They had a beautiful, emotional ceremony surrounded by their most precious group of friends and family. We chased the light taking photos, Mikaela in her gorgeous tulle, a-line gown, and Zach looking dapper in his best suit. They even brought their adorable pup for some epic elopement photos. Ranger would be so happy they brought their best friend along with them!
They had a mini, intimate reception in a gorgeous greenhouse with amazing food, a beautiful cake and yummy desserts. They spent the evening swapping stories, giving speeches and making memories that will last them a lifetime!
