These two Floridians wanted nothing more than to travel to the furthest part of the country they could for their epic adventure elopement.
We chatted a lot about adventure options here in Washington State, and it took a long time because, well there are just too many options! Washington has an abundance of waterfalls, mountains, forests, and shorelines to choose from, it’s almost overwhelming.
We settled on the North Cascades, probably the most beautiful park in all of Washington State, in my personal, very biased opinion!
From there, the wait began. We eagerly awaited travel restrictions to lift, change or just give us enough flexibility to have a safe elopement in Washington. We kept each other positive over the months, we remained patient, and we were rewarded with one of the most beautiful days in the summer!
They got creative and rented a campervan in true adventure fashion. I met them in a parking lot by the trailhead, that had been made into a makeshift camper van campsite. When we met up, we were instant friends. They were all the smiles, and positive vibes I needed after a tumultuous year.
The hike was stunning, and we were lucky enough to have it basically all to ourselves. We chatted the whole way up about their future plans, their love of nature, and the great outdoors, and what an amazing day it was already turning out to be. These two were troopers as we made our climb up up up the trail with wedding clothes tucked safely in backpacks.
Their first look was tearful and beautiful, and with the trail all to ourselves, we ran around taking photos with no interruptions. It was like everyone in the world knew that this was their day!
These two, along with all of my other adventurous, pandemic couples, were a light in a dark time. I will never forget this beautiful day, and this amazing couple as they blaze a path ahead through life together.
