The Cattle Barn

The Cattle Barn, another rustic wedding venue for the win! This venue has everything you would need for a PNW rustic wedding: a classic wood barn, mountain views, and endless photo options. This is another venue that has made our Favorite Seattle Wedding Venues post, and we can’t wait to tell you more.

Cle Elum, Washington

Cle Elum, known as the “heart of the Cascades” is a beautiful town surrounded by the Cascades mountain range. We love this area for the adventurous mountain lovers inside all of us. It is only about an hour and a half away from Seattle and it’s the perfect place for PNW camping, hiking, and any other outdoor activity you can think of! Fun fact: Cle Elum means “swift water” and was named by the Kittitas tribe, who resided there and used the Yakima river for sustenance.

The Cattle Barn

The Cattle Barn is a beautiful, rustic, classic style barn set on a 1,000 acre working cattle ranch in Cle Elum. Although it was built in the late 1800s, it is fully refurbished with all the modern amenities a couple would need for their big day: wood flooring for dancing, a sturdy bar setup, modern bathrooms and comfortable suites for getting ready. It is a pet friendly venue, so bring your furry friends along, and it is perfect for weddings of all sizes. The barn is large and a great backdrop for an outdoor, tented reception, or move your reception inside the barn for the perfect rustic touch. The rustic vibe of this farm is equally matched with it’s potential for modern and trendy touches. The venue is a great skeleton for those couples wanting to add their personalities and unique touches to their wedding.

Locations to take photos at The Cattle Barn

the entire property is beautiful. A photographer’s dream. From inside or outside the main barn, to the farmhouse, to the vast property, there is no shortage of photo locations. Here are some of our favorites.

In the field with a mountain view

On a beautiful day, trek out to the open field and take in the mountain views and have some peaceful alone time taking sunset photos.

Inside the farmhouse

We don’t always recommend indoor photos, but this barn has the perfect indoor window light. If you want some trendy or unique indoor portraits, this barn is the way to go.

In the woods at the front of the property

Love the lush PNW forests Washington has to offer? Well then head out to the woods in front of the property for some adventurous forest shots. This is a great option on a bright day when the sun is high and you’re trying to avoid some harsh shadows.

Behind The Cattle Barn

One of our favorite spots on the property is behind the barn. It is the perfect back drop for your dreamy, mountain ceremony, or some intimate portraits.

Inside the main barn

The inside of the barn is the perfect place for reception photos, with floor to ceiling windows that let in the natural light as the sun is going down, and the wood to add a warm tone to your photos. We love the way reception photos come out inside this barn.
