Axis Pioneer Square Wedding in Seattle Washington

Sitting on the ferry, on our way home from this wedding, I thought to myself…

“I wonder how many red bricks I photographed today?”

And please don’t mistake this as something negative… I LOVE red brick, and with that in mind… This Axis Pioneer Square Wedding is a red brick wonderland. Meghan got ready at Motif in downtown Seattle, a beautiful downtown hotel. She sat for hair and makeup in her silky white robe with polka dotted sleeves. So cute!  She was surrounded by so many beautiful and amazing women while she got ready, her mother, grandma, and so many more wonderful women, sharing in memories and laughing until they cried about old times. A special shout out to her Grandma who just kept coming in with snacks upon snacks upon snacks upon sna — You get the point! 😉

First Look

Kash and his guys spent the morning at his and Meghan’s apartment in West Seattle before making their way over to Motif for their first look on the rooftop. First looks are my favorite part of every wedding. So many emotions just overflow from every bride and groom and in so many ways they don’t expect. I love how the couple gets a chance to hold and kiss each other, and all the nerves from the day just fade away. This first look was not short on emotions! They couldn’t do anything but beam from ear to ear, admiring each other with tears in their eyes.

The Axis Pioneer Square Wedding

From the rooftop we ventured over to Pioneer Square for photos. We were lucky to get quite a few in before it started raining in typical Washington fashion. What could be more Seattle than an Axis Pioneer Square wedding with a typical Seattle rain storm?!

The remainder of the day was all held at Axis Pioneer Square, rich in red brick walls, beautiful window light, art deco style decor and lush green vines. This is seriously such a gorgeous venue. It is very industrial, but since Meghan & Kash hehe chose to bring in romantic and soft decorative elements like her peach flowers and soft candle light, it made for something truly beautiful.

And while it is a fairly large venue, it has a way of giving every wedding an intimate vibe. Family members gather around their candlelit tables, and the acoustics make it so that no matter where in the room you’re sitting, you can hear every word of the speeches.

I love couples that genuinely enjoy every moment of their wedding day. It’s hard to be mindful of the fact that this day is about you, and your partner and nothing else. Especially when you feel bogged down and overwhelmed with everything you have put into this special day, and how long you’ve waited for it to arrive. This couple had smiles on every minute of the day.

They took every single moment of their Axis Pioneer Square wedding and soaked it in. For anyone waiting patiently for you big day, keep in mind that no matter how hard you plan, work and lose sleep over this event, on the day of, it’s time to stand back and soak in everything you’ve worked so hard for, and celebrate! You made it! Welcome to the first day of the rest of your lives!

I know these photos speak for themselves but I can’t rave enough about this beautiful venue, this fun loving couple, and this perfect Seattle wedding day.
